A short game demo of the ZX Spectrum Next NextDAAD interpreter.

  • Layer 2 graphics in front of and behind the text window
  • Location graphics animation through sprites
  • Title screen with AY music
  • In game AY music
  • Sampled sound effect playback, 2 concurrent sounds, looping and one shot
  • Video cutscene playback
  • External machine code execution for text ticker and layer 2 image fades
  • Runtime font switching
  • Runtime 40/80 column text display switching
  • Multi-level hint book (type hint)
  • Realtime clock queries

  • Run nextdaad.nex to start the demo

For video and sampled sound playback actual Spectrum Next hardware is required, other features still work in emulators.
